Summary

About us
Our Decarbonisation and Energy team, part of the Council’s Property section, manage the delivery of energy reduction projects for the council across our building assets. We work with colleagues from across the Council to deliver the property related challenges set out in the Climate Change Challenge Plan; as well as the Council’s Carbon reporting data and annual returns to Welsh Government. The team also manage renewable energy projects and the utility bills for all our buildings. Our work includes outreach and behaviour change work with schools and other building user groups such as Community Centres.

About the role
Pay Details: Grade 6 SCP 14-19 , £29,540 - £32,061 pro rata
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours – Monday to Friday
Main Place of Work: Civic Offices
Description: Looking for a role where you can help create a low carbon future? Our Decarbonisation and Energy team are looking for a new officer to join them. You’d be working on a variety of energy reduction and renewable energy projects, our Climate Change Challenge Plan, as well as supporting colleagues with reporting data, utility bills, our annual report to Welsh Government and to implement the Council’s Decarbonisation priorities.

About you
You will need:

Good analytical and communication skills.
Good report writing/presentation skills.
Ability to work independently when required.
Ability to communicate effectively (including community engagement skills).
Ability to deliver projects on time and in accordance with an agreed programme.
Commitment to energy efficiency and decarbonisation agenda.
Aptitude for collecting, analysing, and presenting data.
Positive and self-motivated with a confident, polite, and approachable manner.
Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
Commitment to community engagement activity
