Summary
Home Office Digital, Data and Technology designs, builds and develops services for the rest of the department and for government. Every year our systems support up to 3 million visa applications, checks on 100 million border crossings, up to 8 million passport applications and deliver 140 million police checks on people, vehicles and property.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Law Enforcement Cloud Platform (LECP) Programme.
This role offers an opportunity to lead a high-performing team within a Home Office Critical programme in a challenging environment, overseeing end-to-end PMO functions. It’s ideal for someone seeking strategic influence, leadership growth, and the chance to shape a major transformation with visibility across senior stakeholders.
The role demands a high level of expertise in PMO management. The team will rely on your leadership, guidance, and hands-on support.
As a G7 PMO Manager, you’ll lead a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, overseeing core programme functions including planning, dependencies, RAID, governance, and reporting. You’ll also manage business cases, assurance, finance, commercials, procurement, resourcing and workforce planning. This role requires strategic oversight to ensure effective delivery and compliance with governance standards, while supporting the programme’s overall objectives.
You will lead a PMO team within LECP, a Home Office Critical cloud transformation programme. This senior management role encompasses a broad range of PMO responsibilities, as well as additional tasks that may fall outside traditional PMO scope. In 2026, as the programme transitions into Business as Usual (BAU), the scope of the PMO Manager role is expected to evolve.
You will have the opportunity to help shape the role and the team to support ongoing BAU Cloud Business Office.
You will play a pivotal role in driving programme success through robust planning, governance, financial management, and resource coordination across multiple workstreams. Strong interpersonal skills are vital, as too are diplomacy, relationship-building, and the ability to broker pragmatic, constructive solutions across diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leadership & Delivery: Lead the PMO team to ensure successful delivery of programme benefits and outcomes.
- Business Case & Finances: Manage business case development and governance; manage programme budgets; manage suppliers and oversee commercials.
- Governance & Assurance: Manage assurance reviews and ensure follow-up on recommendations.
- Risk & Issue Management: Establish and assure effective processes for identifying, managing, and mitigating risks and issues.
- Planning, Dependency and Change Management: Create and maintain a robust programme plan using MSPO and dependency register.
- Resource Management: Oversee recruitment and allocating of resources. Ownership of Joiners, Movers, and Leavers (JML) process, including security critical AWS Workspaces.
- Programme Board: Ownership of Programme Board, Strategic Board and Finance Board.
- Strategic Reporting: Concise and accurate multi-faceted reporting to a range of stakeholders.
- This role includes line management responsibilities.

Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
Travel
Regular face-to-face engagement with the leadership team is required, with travel to central London and Croydon.
