Summary

The IT team at Canterbury City Council are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join their Infrastructure team.


Are you an experienced IT professional with experience in all aspects of IT infrastructure?


If so, come and join us and take the opportunity to help shape our IT services and delivery.


This is a great opportunity for someone with the right skills to help develop the council’s cloud infrastructure. You would be joining the team at an exciting time as we are in the process of modernising the council’s digital infrastructure and migrating our services to the cloud.

About this job:


You’ll be working with the IT infrastructure team to develop, maintain and deliver IT infrastructure, services and systems.


Here’s what you’ll get up to


Designing and developing our cloud infrastructure

Managing our Microsoft 365 environment

Troubleshooting complex issues and providing 2ndand 3rdline support for IT issues

Ensuring we maintain a secure environment with configuration, patching and upgrades.

Assist with general infrastructure projects including design, delivery and support.

Working pattern:


Monday – Friday excluding bank holidays

Full-Time 37 hours a week

Permanent contract

The team operates a flexible hybrid working model. Normally you will be expected to be on site at least once a week. This may vary from week to week and could be more often depending on the team’s workload and the projects you are working on.

About you. You will have the following;


Your knowledge


Practical Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365

Strong knowledge of SharePoint, Teams

Knowledge of security and compliance regulations

Knowledge of networking and firewall administration

Your experience


Experience of designing and architecting IT solutions.

Your qualifications


An undergraduate degree (or significant relevant practical experience in an ICT infrastructure environment)
