Role – Assistant Service Manager (Homelessness Services)

Contract Status – Temporary, up to 31st March 2026

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (GCHSCP) Homelessness Service provides a comprehensive and person-centred response to individuals and families experiencing housing crisis. This post offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of homelessness services within the city and you will be part of a passionate team committed to reducing homelessness, improving housing outcomes and delivering meaningful change for some of the city’s most vulnerable residents.


GCHSCP are developing a new 10-year Temporary Accommodation Strategy which will set out how the partnership will improve homelessness prevention activities, increase the number of settled lets for homeless households and end the routine use of unsuitable temporary accommodation within 10 years.


The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Temporary Accommodation Strategy ensuring that the aims and the objectives of the strategy are met within the assigned timescales. The postholder will work closely with internal and external partners ensuring that the plan continues to align with local housing needs, local and national policy, as well as homelessness prevention targets.


The postholder will be responsible for preparing reports, briefing notes and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders and act as a point of contact for any enquiries relating to the strategy. The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate a proven ability to produce clear, concise written materials tailored to diverse audiences.


Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
