Summary

We’re entering an exciting chapter at Dovedale Leisure Centre, with a major refurbishment set to be completed by January 2026.

These improvements to the facilities are designed to enhance the experience for our customers and we’re looking for individuals who are passionate about fitness and love working with others to create a welcoming, motivating space who can help to bring this vision to life. As a member of our gym team, the successful applicant will play an integral role in supporting members through inductions, assessments, and personalised fitness programmes, while contributing to a positive and inclusive gym culture.

Applicants are expected to be team players with excellent communication and customer care skills who are committed to member success and are enthusiastic about fitness. It is essential that applicants hold a level 3 gym instructor qualification.

The role involves supporting members through inductions, assessments and personalised fitness programmes as well as leading group classes and supporting member engagement and retention. Applicants should be helpful and willing to maintain a positive and professional gym environment and assist with the day-to-day operation of the gym floor.

These part-time positions are available to support the opening hours of Dovedale Leisure Centre: 6:30am–12:00pm and 5:00pm–10:00pm on weekdays, and 7:00am–7:00pm on weekends. Shifts will operate on a three-week rotating schedule to ensure coverage across these times.

For more details about shift patterns, please email dovedalesportscentre@chelmsford.gov.uk.
