Summary

Public Law & Discrimination Supervising Solicitor | London (Hybrid/Remote) | Part-Time, 2–3 Days per Week | £40,000 – £55,000 pro rata | 1-Year Fixed Term Contract

Are you an experienced Public Law Solicitor looking for an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a new department within a growing London practice?

Our client is a dynamic and growing London practice dedicated to achieving justice and delivering outstanding results for its clients. They specialise in Housing Law, Public Law, Discrimination, Employment, and Debt Matters, and proudly serve clients across London.

As part of their continued growth, our client is launching a dedicated Public Law and Discrimination department, creating an exciting opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to play a key role in shaping and leading this new team.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years PQE in public law
• Strong expertise in administrative law and judicial reviews
• Excellent advocacy, drafting, and legal research skills
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently and effectively
• Outstanding communication and client care skills
• Experience supervising junior staff (desirable)
• Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office
• A proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent organisational skills
• Experience in handling Legal Aid cases and proficiency with the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS)
• Ability to meet billing targets

What will your role look like?

• Provide expert advice on judicial review, human rights, and regulatory challenges
• Lead high-profile public law cases, from client consultation through to litigation
• Represent clients in court, tribunals, and inquiries, including advocacy where appropriate
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, and legal opinions
• Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and paralegals
• Build relationships with NGOs, charities, and community groups to identify strategic litigation opportunities
• Support the firm’s growth by developing new client opportunities and practice areas
• Managing files, ensuring compliance with Lexcel standards and Legal Aid requirements
