Job Description

Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning and Development (CLD) Service are looking to recruit a qualified CLD Worker to the Youth and Communities Team in South Aberdeenshire. In line with local data, identified need and national priorities the successful candidate will promote, develop and deliver local learning and development opportunities. Successful candidates will practice a person-centred approach, be well organised, confident to engage with communities at all levels and show strong leadership qualities.

The Community Learning and Development Service (CLD) sits within Aberdeenshire Council’s wider Education and Children’s Service. The CLD Standards Council for Scotland is our professional body. CLD is a targeted service and works with individuals and groups offering learning for people who want to make positive changes in their communities and personal lives.

This post within CLD offers valuable opportunities for a fulfilling career changing lives and strengthening communities through wider learning.

This post is a 36.25-hour permanent qualified CLD Worker Post based in Stonehaven, working across South Aberdeenshire.

The key duties of a CLD Worker within the Youth and Communities Team are to deliver and coordinate youth work and community development opportunities in line with council priorities. Through early intervention approaches, you will support young people to overcome challenges and to develop a wide range of skills. You will have a strong commitment to working with communities to address issues of inequality. You will have experience in facilitating community engagement and in supporting community organisations whilst increasing participation and representation in decision making processes.

You must hold a current valid driving licence, it is a material condition of employment for this post that you have a car available, whenever required, to undertake the full range of duties of the post.
