Summary

EXPERIENCED HGV FITTERS & TECHNICIANS WANTED

A leading multi-national haulage firm is expanding its thriving workshop team and is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to fill key roles. Join us in maintaining one of the industry's most modern and efficient fleets.

1. HGV Fitter

This is a hands-on, mechanical role focusing on the physical repair, maintenance, and assembly of heavy vehicles and trailers.

Base Salary: Competitive basic salary in the range of £34,000 - £40,000 per annum. Overtime (OT) / OTE: Generous overtime rates (typically Time-and-a-Half) available, contributing to potential OTE of £45,000+. Unsociable Hours Pay: Enhanced pay for evening, night, or weekend shifts. Key Responsibility 1: Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance (PMI's). Key Responsibility 2: Perform mechanical overhauls and replacement of major components (e.g., clutches, braking systems, axles).

2. HGV Technician

This advanced role includes all Fitter duties but requires a strong focus on diagnostic fault-finding and complex system repair.

Base Salary: Competitive basic salary in the range of £38,000 - £48,000 per annum. Overtime (OT) / OTE: Generous overtime rates available, contributing to a potential OTE of £55,000+. Unsociable Hours Pay: Enhanced pay for evening, night, or weekend shifts. Key Responsibility 1: Perform advanced diagnostics using specialized computer software and electronic tools. Key Responsibility 2: Troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electrical, hydraulic, and engine management systems.

Qualifications and Benefits

Qualifications Required:

NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or a completed Advanced Apprenticeship.


Highly Desirable: IRTEC Certification (especially for Technicians) and a full HGV (Class 1 or 2) driving licence.
