Summary
Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hard-working General Labourer to assist with groundwork operations on a busy construction site. The role involves supporting skilled tradespeople with site preparation, digging, moving materials, laying foundations, and general site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist groundworkers with tasks such as:
Excavation and trench digging
Backfilling and compacting
Laying and bedding of pipes, ducts, and drainage systems
Concrete works (pouring, spreading, vibrating)
Preparing and laying kerbs, edgings, and slabs
Operate basic tools and equipment (e.g., shovels, compactors, breakers)
Load and unload materials and distribute them around site
Keep the worksite clean, safe, and organised
Erect and dismantle simple barriers or fencing
Follow site health & safety procedures and wear required PPE
Report to and follow instructions from the site supervisor or groundworks foreman
Requirements:
CSCS Card – Mandatory
Experience working on groundworks or construction sites
Good physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions
Punctual and able to follow instructions
Awareness of health & safety on site
Preferred:
Driving licence and own transport is preferred
Manual Handling or other site-related training
Previous experience assisting with drainage or concrete pours
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday, 08:00 AM – 16:00 PM
Starting Monday 6th October
