Summary

Pinnacle Group are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services. In this role you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and compliance tasks across a patch of schools in Exeter, helping to create a safe and supportive setting for students and staff alike.

You will be joining our Total FM team based in Exeter. The Total FM team provides integrated asset management and maintenance services across the education, leisure, corporate, health and living sectors to ensure facilities operate at their best.

This is a full-time position with alternating shift patterns of 6AM-2PM and 10AM-6PM, Monday-Friday.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance as per the PPM schedule and maintain records and complete service reports as appropriate.
  • Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
  • Assist other skilled trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work. Where instructed, carry out minor repairs to the building fabric to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Collaborate and co-operate with partners and colleagues.
  • Participate in the out of hours on call rota.

Key requirements:

  • 18th edition required.
  • To work collaboratively with site staff, contractors, and the wider FM team.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within commercial or public sector buildings, ideally in a school or PFI environment.
  • Understanding of PFI contract obligations, KPIs, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Willingness to undergo or already possess a valid enhanced DBS clearance due to the school setting.
