We are looking to hire a Boat/Hull maintenance apprentice within Capita Public Service / Defence & National Preparedness division of our business.

Become a Hull/Boat maintainer with Selborne on a permanent basis, whilst studying towards a professional Level 2 qualification in a boat yard and marina operative Apprenticeship.

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level. Apprenticeship Opportunity!!

What Will My Role Involve?

Level 2 Boatyard & Marina Operative Apprenticeship
• Support with launching, lifting, pressure washing, and storing boats safely
• Help manage berthing and vessel movements, keeping accurate records
• Operate boatyard machinery and equipment safely
• Assist with routine maintenance of boats and site infrastructure
• Respond safely to incidents like fires, people in the water, or pollution
• Support other contract areas, including: Replenishment at Sea (HRAS) training, Safety swimmer duties andMaintenance of water safety equipment

You'll complete your Level 2 Boatyard & Marina Operative Apprenticeship qualification over 24-months and will be equipped with real on-the-job learning and experience, finding out how our business works to grow your professional knowledge, all while earning a great salary and working towards a recognised professional qualification. After a full induction and initial training programme, you will join our team full-time, with time set aside so you can continue working towards your professional qualification. Once you have completed this, you will put all of your knowledge to fantastic use and decide what's next for your career!

What Are We Looking For?

We're not looking for previous experience or a career history. We want someone who's happy to work outdoors in all the elements, possibly has a passion for boats or the Royal Navy but most of all someone who is keen to learn! This role will be based at HMS Raleigh, Torpoint. We'll give you all the support you need, with a structured induction programme to prepare you for the role, a buddy to answer your questions, a career coach to offer you advice and set development goals, and regular check-ins with your team manager.

To comply with eligibility guidelines, you'll need to provide evidence of /confirm the following:

• You'll be aged 18 or older, and will not be in full-time education at the apprenticeship start date
• You do not hold a qualification in a related subject area at the same level or above
• Proof of residence in England for the duration of your apprenticeship
