Summary


The care of patients on the wards, in the theatres and at out-patients clinics as appropriate to the grade of the post and under the direction of the Consultants responsible.

Registrar will rotate through 2 sub-specialty firms and participate in theatres, clinics, ward rounds and ward cover.

This whole-time post is based at the West Wing, John Radcliffe Hospital with occasional visits to peripheral outpatient clinics in the region.


Specialist Trainees will be expected to contribute to the assessment of junior colleagues. Specialist Trainees will be familiar with the assessment process used in the ISCP. Specific training will be made available from the Postgraduate Centre.

Maintenance of patient records, the completion of summaries and the writing of letters etc., as appropriate.

So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties the postholder undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues.

Practitioners will be prepared to perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
