Job Title: Healthcare Assistant – Domiciliary Care
Location: Harrogate and surrounding areas
Reports to: Care Coordinator / Registered Manager
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality person-centred care and support to clients in their own homes, enabling them to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, continence care).
Support with safe moving and handling.
Assist with medication administration in line with policies and procedures.
Prepare meals and support with nutrition and hydration.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Carry out light household tasks to maintain a safe environment.
Accurately record care notes and report any concerns to the care team.
Respect confidentiality and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
Travel between client homes (driving licence and access to own vehicle preferred).
Person Specification
Essential
Compassionate, caring, and reliable.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to undertake mandatory training.
Ability to work flexibly (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays).
Desirable
Previous experience in care.
Full UK driving licence and access to own car.
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
