We are seeking a suitable candidate to join our dedicated team of staff in the above Dounby Nursery.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working with young children in a structured context. This post is rewarding and requires energetic, thoughtful people, who can work as part of our team in a caring, learning environment.

For appointment at Grade D:

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy AND successfully complete a relevant qualification to allow registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up the post.

For appointment at Grade E:

You should hold a recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children) e.g. NC in Early Education and Child Care, SVQ Level 2.

You are required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of taking up the post and maintain this registration.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to a Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children.
