Responsibility of the Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager:
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will oversee commercial and contractual matters across fit-out and refurbishment projects. This is a client-facing role that requires strong preconstruction and estimating experience, with responsibility for ensuring profitability, mitigating risk, and maintaining Inside's reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Participate in tender submissions, preconstruction, and estimating activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy of tender returns

Prepare, negotiate, and manage cost plans, cashflows, valuations, and final accounts

Monitor and control project budgets, preliminary expenditure, and cost reporting

Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and order placement with robust contract documentation

Ensure prompt costing of change, secure instructions, and maximise commercial opportunities

Support Project Managers in delivering projects profitably and successfully

Conduct design cost control and recommend value engineering solutions

Resolve commercial issues, including debtors and retention collection

Maintain detailed project records and ensure compliance with company systems and procedures

Monitor supply chain performance and safeguard against disputes
Requirements:
-
Over 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager in the UK construction industry

Proven track record in both project delivery and preconstruction/estimating stages

Experience with JCT contracts (all types)

Degree, HND, NVQ, or A-Level qualified in a relevant field

Strong commercial, legal, and contractual knowledge

Excellent problem-solving skills

Highly organised with strong time management abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
