Summary

We're looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager for our Strategic Projects UK construction operations.



Location: Solihull

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Responsibilities

This role provides Health, Safety, and Wellbeing leadership for the project/s to which they are assigned. The role reports into the Senior Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager who is the point of contact and conduit for the regional business and the Kier Construction Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Director.

Duties and responsibilities within the role will include but not be limited to:

-Provides the point of contact and conduit for the Project Team and Supply Chain, the Project Director, the Strategic Projects Senior Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager and Construction & Engineering Director.

-Actively promote the Business Stream HSW Strategy and its objectives as well deliver overall key performance indicators, measure successes, and drive continual improvement in HSW on the Project.

-Coordinates compilation of the project HSW reports, dissemination of these to the Snr HSW Manager and the Project Director.

-Brief the Project Senior Leadership Team & Senior Management Team with monthly updates on matters of health, safety and wellbeing.

-Ensure regular communication on all Health, Safety, and Wellbeing issues from Kier Construction are relayed to the Project Team.

-Undertake Project HSW Reports, Audits, Inspection and Incident investigations to ensure the quality of reporting, corrective actions are assigned and closed in a timely manner, lessons learnt are produced as well as uphold the basic principles as set out in the Operating Procedures and Control Standards for the project.

Who are we looking for?

The HSW Manager will be able to demonstrate competence with significant experience in the construction industry safety, health, and wellbeing within a similar Tier 1 construction business working on major projects in a similar role with a good understanding of the principles of risk management at a practical level, preferably as a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).



-A great communicator and a proven ability to build positive working relationships at site level

-A demonstrable understanding of behavioural safety to enable you to promote our behavioural safety program “Think Safety Differently”

-Strong management skills focused on project leadership to add value to the overall team

-Able to build positive working relationships with the project supply chain

-Competent and experienced manager of challenging scenarios

-Forward thinking by sharing ideas and challenging standard practices

-Ability to manage own workload, and prioritise accordingly

-Keen to drive efficiencies through continuous improvement on the project

-Ability to train others in in-house HSW Awareness courses

-Proficient skills in standard Microsoft Office 365

-An appropriate level CSCS Card is a requirement for this role enabling access to our projects
