We are looking for a home teacher for our extremely sweet and very easy-going son who has autism. While our son is pre-verbal, we have in recent years realized his amazing capabilities through his use se of a letterboard.
You will learn the cutting-edge program we use to teach his letterboard skills, as well as motor skills, etc. Supervision will be provided by those with certification in the methodology. This is a program that you can go further with in the future as a career as many families are looking for those with experience in it.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A positive, outgoing and very kind personality
- A belief in every person's potential
- A desire to presume competence in those with autism
- An interest and willingness to learn new skills
- Flexibility and an easy-going attitude (you will be working out of our home)
- Commitment to always be on time and be dependable.
HOURS: MONDAY - FRIDAY we run his timetable between 9am- 5:00 pm
(we may be able to be flexible on start/end time)
Preference will be given to those looking to make a long-term commitment to the position.
