Summary
Job Description
The Control of Contractors Coordinator is responsible for the successful and safe management of all sub-contractor works, through the ownership and implementation of the client work authorisation and permit to work process.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervision of contractors onsite/booking them in.
• Depending on workload from each site
• Escorting sub-contractors onsite – ensuring security guidelines are maintained
• Support on other tasks – booking in subcontractors, checking paperwork – reviewing risk assessments – supporting the overall engineering team. Support with Logbooks, Compliance, Leonardo processes e.g. security arrangements for visiting site.
• Ad-hoc inspections
• Responsible for sub-contractor prequalification, reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements, delivering subcontractor inductions, issuing Work Authorisations and Permits to Work to ensure the safe delivery of work across site.
• Liaison with sub-contractor groups, and account key stakeholders, to ensure the timely issue of work authorisations & permits to work in line with procedural requirements.
• Plan and prioritise works, in collaboration with key stakeholders, to ensure operational efficiency.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
IOSH as basic
NEBOSH
• Previous experience in a similar role with good knowledge of M&E disciplines and associated legislative/statutory requirements.
• IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate ideally required (noting this can be working towards)
• Successful management of sub-contractor groups, from both an operational and safety perspective, to prevent undesirable outcomes.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with internal/external key stakeholders and sub-contractor groups. Ability to work in a fast paced and reactive environment.
• Strong communicator, with the ability to inspire confidence.
Need to have some form of Technical Knowledge and come from either a Facilities or other Technical Background
