Full Time (1 FTE, 35 hours per week), fixed term 2 years
Salary scale: £52,074 - £58,611 per annum

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is a world-class centre of excellence in performing arts education, encompassing music, film, performance, dance, production, education and research. Your contribution in this new role as the Senior HR Business Partner (Employee Relations) will play a critical part in ensuring that our community continues to thrive though positive interpersonal relationships and our commitment to upholding our institutional values - Creative courage, Compassion, Constructive challenge, Curiosity, Craft, rigour and talent, Community.

This is a demanding and challenging role, but also incredibly rewarding. You will work with staff and students from across the Conservatoire and will be immersed in the happenings of our departments – we are a small institution, so you’ll get to know people quickly. Being able to establish yourself with credibility and trust will be key. Your advice, guidance and decision-making will be valued and relied upon, and your input in effecting change will be critical to our success.

To thrive in this role, you will enjoy problem solving, creative thinking and most importantly, working with people. You will be a great listener, able to draw on your experience to see through situations to identify ways forward.

As the institutional expert in employee relations the role will often be immersed in caseload. You will identify opportunities to drive institutional change through the development and delivery of training, relationship-building and policy change in the area of employee relations and legal compliance.

The Conservatoire is a vibrant and creative place to work, with free tickets to our performances across the year, generous annual leave entitlements and pension schemes, hybrid working, and staff discounts to our short courses and juniors’ programmes.

We reserve the right to shorten or extend the closing date for this position depending on the number of suitable applications received. If you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply as early as possible.

The RCS continues to foster a culture that welcomes and supports new voices, balances the pursuit of excellence with individuality and experimentation, and champions all forms of a diverse performance community so that students and graduates can fulfil their potential as artists and creative citizens.
