The Isle of Wight Register Office is looking for a full-time Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our busy team. You’ll be the first point of contact when people contact our service and will be expected to demonstrate a caring and professional working practice.

No two days are the same in this service and the work is exceptionally rewarding. Our team handles a wide range of enquiries from members of the public covering major life events such as births, deaths, and marriages so you will need to have empathy and sensitivity in all aspects of the job. It’s vital that our team can adapt to the needs of everyone using our service, ensuring everyone feels looked after and supported during these important events in their lives.

As an integral part of this small and friendly team, you’ll demonstrate excellent customer service skills and behaviours as well as product and/or service knowledge when delivering to your customers.

If you are great at communicating face to face, with an excellent phone manner and sound ICT skills (diary management and email will be a large focus of the role) then we would love to hear from you.

You will need to:

Have a keen eye for detail
Be highly organised
Have the ability to work calmly under pressure
Have the ability to prioritise your own workload

We are keen to see applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and experience, please ensure when you complete the application form, to make use of the ‘additional information’ section so we can see a clear snapshot of your skills.
