Summary

Location: Keynsham Civic Centre,
️ Duration: 5th October – 31st December 2025
⏰ Hours: 22.2 hours/week, typically 9am–5pm
Pay: £17.53 PAYE / £22.78 Umbrella
Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a proactive and professional Human Resources Consultant to join the People & Policy team. This is a part-time opportunity to provide expert HR support during a period of authorised absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality advice and support on employee relations cases
Apply HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation
Work independently and collaboratively within the HR & OD Advisory team
Contribute to continuous improvement across HR, Business Support, and Health & Wellbeing functions
Essential Skills & Experience:
Generalist HR experience including casework and workforce change
Strong working knowledge of employment policies, procedures, and legal frameworks
Confident in applying policy to practice and resolving complex issues
Intermediate negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Desirable: CIPD qualification, Microsoft Office proficiency, and strong written communication
