SEN Teacher - The Role:

The successfully appointed SEN teacher will be required to plan and deliver highly individualised, engaging, and meaningful lessons that consider cognitive, communication, and sensory profiles. Lead and manage a class team of support staff to ensure a consistent and person-centred approach across the day. Work collaboratively with therapists and other professionals to embed therapeutic strategies into daily teaching. Use augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC) including high-tech (e.g., communication devices/apps) and low-tech systems (e.g., PECS, Sign-Along, visual supports). Build strong relationships with families and contribute positively to home-school communication. Play an active role in annual reviews and contribute meaningfully to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) processes. SEN experience is preferred to be considered for this SEN teacher role.

SEN Teacher - The School:

This is a co-educational, non-maintained special school that caters to 100 students aged 7-19 with moderate, severe and complex needs including those with social, emotional and mental health needs. While it is a Roman Catholic school, it welcomes students from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. The curriculum is adapted to meet the individual developmental and learning needs of each student, with a focus on functional skills and independence. In its most recent full inspection, the school received a "Good" rating in all key areas, including education quality, behaviour, personal development, and leadership
