Summary
Staff Nurse - Band 5
Full Time – Fixed term 1 year
To work within The Centre for Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The Centre is an HFEA licensed clinic and undertakes a full range of assisted conception treatments.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work primarily within our IVF theatre, procedure room and recovery area. This will involve assisting with IVF egg collections and embryo transfers as well as caring for patients pre and post procedures. In addition, duties will involve assisting in Fertility outpatient clinics and in the general care of our patients. The post also involves some administrative duties such as maintenance of stock levels, databases and undertaking audits.
You must have a minimum of 18 months post-registration experience, preferably in an acute area, and be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in working in this area. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and be motivated to provide the highest standards of care. The Fertility nursing team is friendly and supportive and there will be the opportunity to extend your role if aptitude is demonstrated. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
Currently the clinic is open Monday - Friday plus Saturday and Sunday mornings and some bank holidays. Weekends and bank holidays are worked on a rota system.
