This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to bring your clinical expertise into a welcoming and professional educational environment. You will play a vital role in supporting our pupils’ health and wellbeing, providing direct care, managing medications, promoting health education, and collaborating closely with colleagues, parents, and healthcare providers. You’ll enjoy term-time working while making a tangible impact on the wellbeing of our students.
Key responsibilities:
Delivering first aid, emergency care, and ongoing health support to pupils.
Developing and managing healthcare plans for pupils with chronic conditions.
Providing medical cover at sports fixtures and school trips.
Playing an active pastoral and medical role within boarding houses.
Promoting health awareness and providing training to staff.
The post is based on 36 hours per week, worked across a rota of shifts that are published in advance each term.
About you
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Adult or Child) with current NMC registration and post-registration experience in a relevant setting (such as paediatrics, A&E, community nursing, or adolescent health). You should have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a flexible, empathetic approach.
This is a varied, fulfilling role in a supportive school environment, well-suited to nurses who enjoy working independently while also being part of a dedicated team.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 13th October 2025.
Please note that previous applicants for positions at our Health Centre need not reapply.
St Edward’s does not accept applications from recruitment agencies.
St Edward’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we aim to create and maintain a safe environment for our pupils, where they feel respected and supported. All staff are required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
