We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Property Safety Electrical team as a General Maintenance Employee (Electrical), serving the City of Sunderland. This new role reflects our commitment to growth and delivering outstanding service to our valued customers.
In this role, you will work closely with the electrical team, conducting routine inspections and checks on essential safety systems and associated equipment to ensure Gentoo Group remains fully compliant with fire and electrical safety regulations. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and satisfaction of our customers.

A full UK driver’s licence is required for this position.
The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.
Key responsibilities will include:
Conduct routine inspections and functional testing across the Group’s stock, including weekly fire alarm checks, testing communal and emergency lighting through simulated power failures, and ensuring proper operation of automatic doors and smoke control systems.
Ensure essential firefighting equipment, such as fire brigade switches, dry and wet risers, smoke control systems, and lifts, are fully operational and compliant with safety standards.
