The role

Clive Booth Student Village is recruiting for an exceptional Residences Supervisor. Are you a hospitality professional with a vibrant personality capable of leading a team in a fast paced setting?

This role will be suited to a candidate who can demonstrate success as a leader where delivering a warm, professional, memorable customer experience is at the heart of the residential operation. You will have energy, drive, be incredibly organised, used to using your own initiative and have confidence in your judgement.

About the team

This hall of Residence can currently accommodate up to 1,700 undergraduate/postgraduate students As a leading accommodation provider in the area we also open up our residences to corporate, conference and leisure travellers adding another dimension to the Residences experience.

You’ll be joining a friendly, professional environment where every member of staff is recognised as important to the success of Oxford Brookes University, where you will be supported and encouraged by your line manager and receive a package of training to help you excel and develop in your role.

What will I be doing?

As a Residences Supervisor, you would be working for one of the largest employers in Oxford. Our clients live with us for up to 52 weeks a year, with many returning for additional years or as post graduates. We are their home from home and a key part of their University Life support structure, the natural ability to build relationships, demonstrate professional empathy and recognise clients as individuals is therefore crucial.

Responsibilities include:
● Supervising the domestic team to ensure cleaning standards are delivered and the organisation of cleaning schedules
● Completing Health and Safety inspections, COSHH management, Basic risk assessment development and monitoring
● Dealing with customer queries, issues or concerns and minor customer complaints.

What experience and skills do I need?

● Working in a fast pace customer service environment
● Being part of a professional team with a strong work ethic
● Being able to manage your time and workload effectively
● Leading or supervising a team
● Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
● Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
● A keen eye for detail
● Good IT skills
● The ability to build effective relationships with other departments in the organisation as well as contract partners to ensure the smooth running of your Residences.

About the location

Based at our Clive Booth Halls Student Village, you’ll experience the vibrant Hall atmosphere. The Halls are a short walk to the main Headington Campus and is served by regular public transport. This role will generally run Monday to Friday but there may be occasional weekend working i.e. over Student Arrivals weekend or during summer conferencing.
