University of Bradford

At the University of Bradford, our focus is on creating the conditions for social, cultural, and economic impact. We are committed to social inclusion. Our work to expand opportunity and enable students to reach their potential, has led to us topping the Social Mobility Index of English universities for the last four years. Our University Strategy sets out our ambitions for 2025, which we will achieve by using our proud heritage as a springboard and remaining steadfast in our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

The University of Bradford is committed to safeguarding, protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and Adults at Risk through robust safer recruitment practices.

What you will be doing:

This is an exciting opportunity to become a valued member of our vibrant and forward-thinking Disability Services team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional advice, guidance, and support to disabled students, helping to remove barriers and enhance their university experience.

You will be a collaborative team player—highly motivated, well-organised, and committed to excellence. Working closely with colleagues across Disability Services and the wider Student Life and Wellbeing teams, you will contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive.

In this diverse and fast-paced role, you will liaise with external agencies to secure funding and ensure appropriate support is in place. You will guide students through the process with empathy and professionalism, always maintaining the highest standards and putting the student at the heart of everything you do.

Qualifications/ experience:

You will have:

Previous experience of working in educational disability support in HE/FE.
A clear understanding of the barriers disabled students face and reasonable adjustments in an educational setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a good telephone manner.
Ability to balance being supportive of students, while also adhering to appropriate professional boundaries.
Celebrating Diversity – The University of Bradford

In the Disability Service we have a low representation of BAME men and therefore we welcome applications from individuals who represent these categories.

At the University of Bradford, we recognise and embrace people that work in diverse ways so if you need any adjustments to our recruitment process, please speak to the recruitment team who will be happy to support you.
