Summary

Madras College Community Use is a team dedicated to making a wide range of our facilities accessible for learning, leisure, and cultural events. As a Casual Receptionist, you will report directly to the Admin Support Officer, Sarah Barclay and play a key role in providing excellent customer service. Your responsibilities will include engaging positively with customers and service users, responding to enquiries via telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face interactions, and inputting onto our Leisure Information Management System.

You will be responsible for delivering an efficient reception service, adhering to established procedures, and ensuring customer care policies are upheld.

You will follow service guidelines and health and safety policies, and you must be familiar with associated risk assessments and standard operating procedures. Additionally, you will be part of a wider area team providing administrative and clerical support to Community Use.

Key duties include maintaining registers and waiting lists, cashing up and reconciling cash against booking sheets and registers, handling and resolving customer complaints, comments and compliments and escalating issues as needed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, a strong customer focus, and a positive, "can-do" attitude.

You must also:

Be educated to SCQF level 4.
Be confident and composed when interacting with people at all levels.
Be flexible and able to work on their own initiative.
Demonstrate excellent team working skills.
Have a good understanding of IT and be capable of using various internal systems.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
