Summary

Job Description

This role will sit within Aberdeenshire Councils Children’s Services Team with the primary purpose of the role being to deliver efficient and effective, customer-focused support. Working independently or collaboratively as part of a diverse team, the post holder will be instrumental in maintaining service delivery to a high standard. Initially, training will focus on supporting the fostering team offering the successful candidate a chance to build specialist knowledge and skills in this critical area. Once the successful candidate is gaining in skills and knowledge, they will receive further training and experience across other domains within Children’s Services, broadening their professional expertise and impact.

Hybrid Working Arrangements

This role offers hybrid working providing flexibility to support work-life balance while ensuring effective service delivery. Arrangements regarding work location, hours, and technology support will be discussed further at the interview stage, tailored to the needs of both the service and the successful candidate.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Excellence: Act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing courteous, prompt, and accurate responses to queries. Maintain a professional and empathetic approach to all communications, ensuring that service users’ needs are at the forefront of all actions.
  • Children’s Services Team Support: Undertake training, learn processes, statutory requirements and best practices. Support the administrative and operational functions of the team, ensuring smooth service delivery to children and families.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work in partnership with colleagues across Children’s Services, sharing information appropriately.
  • Process Adherence and Efficiency: Follow strict guidelines and statutory processes with precision, maintaining accurate records and documentation. Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, using sound judgment to prioritise competing demands and escalate concerns as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Administrative roles within public sector, charitable, or private organisations
