A specialist independent school for autistic students with associated needs is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join its committed team. The school is NAS-accredited and Ofsted-rated 'Good', supporting academically able pupils with autism, ADHD, and complex needs. Most students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a statement of special educational needs.

Your new role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the senior leadership team to support the delivery of tailored learning activities. You'll assist pupils in a range of classroom settings and provide one-to-one support where required. Your role will be key in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in their learning across a variety of subjects and settings
- Work under the direction of classroom teachers and senior leaders
- Understand and respond to the developmental needs of pupils, including physical, emotional, and social factors
- Use ICT effectively to enhance learning and support classroom management
- Encourage and motivate pupils, promoting self-esteem and independence
- Assist in marking and recording pupil progress accurately
- Help pupils reflect on and value their learning experiences
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of school policies, including safeguarding and health & safety
- Stay informed about the SEN Code of Practice and best practices in SEND education
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of individual pupils
