As an RCCW, you will work with young people who are in care, edge of care or children with disability from the age of 5 through to the age of 18. The role works in a multi-disciplinary team and provides support for children & young people in developing their skills to independence.

Key Responsibilities:
- To develop, monitor and review individual risk assessments, homes support plans, care plans and ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed.
- To assist young people in dealing with behavioural, emotional, or other difficulties in line with Policy, Procedure, Children Quality Care Standards and regulation 2015, Supported Accommodation Standards & Regulations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding in a children and young people’s context
- To participate in the professional life of the home and to work as a member of the residential staff team.
- Accurately complete all relevant records and files in accordance with Statutory requirements and home policies
- Participate in training, attend staff meetings, and assist with home functions including administration duties.
- Ensure the compliance of regulation frameworks the home falls within and understand OFSTED
- To support young people to develop skills and confidence moving on to independent living.
Key Requirements:
Experience of delivering life skills and/ or participation programmes to young people in a youth work, social care, or health setting.
- At least 1 years’ experience working with children and young people.
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification). Preferably started or completed or competent with qualifications and able to complete level 3 in residential care.
- Have attention to detail ensuring correct information is recorded in all paperwork, keeping this up to date and organised for the manager’s review.

As part of the control, and guidance to young people resident within the home that is consistent with the Homes Statement of Purpose, Children standards and regulations 2015, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, The Leaving Care Act 2000 and Oldham Council Policies and Procedures.
