Summary
Location: Scunthorpe
Hours: 39 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 6:45am - 3:30pm
- Friday: 6:45am - 2:05pm
Are you passionate about craftsmanship and keen to learn a specialist trade? We're looking for a dedicated Upholstery Operative to join our team and help create high-quality furniture with precision and care.
What You'll Be Doing
Upholstery Techniques
- Apply foam and fabric to frames with accuracy.
- Use tensioning and straining methods for a perfect fit.
Materials & Trimmings
- Work with a variety of fabrics, paddings, and frame types.
- Apply trimmings including buttons, facings, piping, and decorative studs.
Tools & Equipment
- Operate compressed air tools (e.g., staple guns) and hand tools.
- Create pleats such as scroll arm, envelope, and puckering styles.
Team Collaboration
- Contribute to piece work production in a fast-paced team environment.
- Work closely with upholsterers, trainers, and managers to meet production goals.
Product Knowledge
- Stay informed about product specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
Attention to Detail
- Ensure every finished product meets our high standards of neatness and precision.
