SALARY: £34,118- £41,177 FTE / £27,663 to £33,386 per annum (Actual Salary for 30 Hours per Week)
LOCATION: Hybrid Working from Home and the office in Llandough, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 30 Hours per Week. May include some evening and weekend work (potential flexibility for the right candidate)
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Director of Business and Finance / Finance Manager.
As a Director of Business and Finance / Finance Manager you will lead on all aspects of finance, compliance and organisational management, ensuring effective delivery of services across the organisation.
The Director of Business and Finance / Finance Manager will provide strategic support, deputise for the Chief Executive when required and drive improvements in operational standards, reporting and governance.
This rewarding leadership role requires excellent financial management skills, a strong understanding of compliance, and the ability to support teams, systems and business processes effectively.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Director of Business and Finance / Finance Manager include:
• Leadership And Compliance: Oversee business operations, ensuring adherence to legislation, policies and governance requirements
• Financial Management: Prepare budgets, manage accounts and payroll, monitor reporting and oversee statutory returns
• Office Administration: Maintain systems, supplier contracts and efficient office processes while acting as Data Protection Officer
• Facilities And Safety: Ensure a safe workplace, managing maintenance, fire safety, risk assessments and incident response
• Team Leadership: Line-manage administrative staff, supporting recruitment, supervision, training and performance management
• Strategic Support: Deputise for the Chief Executive, attend meetings and contribute to continuous organisational development
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in financial management and budget control
• Proven experience of overseeing business operations, compliance and reporting
• Experience with payroll, statutory returns and IT systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
• Ability to develop effective processes and maintain compliance standards
DESIRABLE
• A degree, professional qualification or equivalent in business administration, finance or related discipline
• Familiarity with charity governance, Companies House and Charity Commission requirements
• Experience in staff supervision, HR processes and recruitment
• Professional finance certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
• Knowledge of data protection legislation and responsibilities
This role requires a DBS check at enhanced level.
