Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a specialist school for students with autism.
This teaching role is to cover maternity leave from October 2025 through to July 2026. You will be responsible for delivering English across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailoring the curriculum to meet a diverse range of learning needs and supporting each student in reaching their full potential.
Duties as an English Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual abilities and EHCP targets.
Create a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment that encourages communication and independence.
Work closely with teaching assistants and families to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education.
Assess and report on progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet evolving needs.
Ideal English Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with experience working with children with autism.
Experience teaching English.
Strong understanding of strategies for supporting students with autism, including communication and sensory needs.
Patience, flexibility, and excellent communication skills as an English Teacher.
