Summary
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and skilled Hostel Assistant to join our team at Westbourne House, in Hull. We are looking for this dynamic individual to join our team on a full-time basis, for 40 hours a week.
Your key responsibilities will involve supporting in the day-to-day operations of Westbourne House and ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to. These duties will include:
Timely preparation of accommodation for clients, including helping to move clients into the accommodation.
Ensure standards of cleanliness and ‘housekeeping’ tasks are maintained and recorded.
To ensure the building is secure and incidents/ behaviours monitored and communicated appropriately.
To ensure the efficient running of the service’s rolling maintenance programme, to evidence reactive response to any issues and record accordingly.
To ensure Health and Safety requirements are met and recorded, i.e. fire safety, food safety, cleaning rotas, staff and service user log in.
To complete the risk assessment element of the service’s booking-in procedure.
To assist in the preparation/ delivery of service user meals ensuring food safety, safer food better business standards, food stores are to standard.
Your essential skills and requirements will include:
Working knowledge of homelessness, social housing, risk assessments, support an care plans, complex needs individuals and related settings
Excellent communication, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Good IT skills inclusive of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good organisational skills, taking personal responsibility for following procedure, meeting targets, managing work priorities flexibly in order to meet changing needs
