We are looking for committed and compassionate professionals to join our team, who share our enthusiasm for changing lives.About the Service - Housing & Homelessness ServicesA safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.Accommodation to us doesn’t just mean a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. It needs to be a welcoming and flourishing environment, offering opportunities for all those we support to feel comfortable and develop. At Changing Lives, we offer a home rather than just a shelter.About the JobSessional workers will be key in providing essential support such as: Carry out regular building health and safety inspections, identifying risk factors, responding accordingly, carrying out basic repairs where possible. When required, use local maintenance processes to request maintenance ensuring that young people receive a customer focused service in accordance with Changing Lives standardsWork as part of a team in preparing the accommodation for letting. Ensure that the standards of the building are maintained by following designated Shift Tasks and keeping the building tidy and carrying out cleaning jobs as requiredTo enable young people to manage risk by providing advice, guidance and information on Health and Safety and support them in managingtheir physical environment Ensure that all support offered to young people is delivered in line with contractual obligations and in accordance with best practice models within Changing Lives and the Changing Lives Code of Conduct Complement the work of the management team and Support Workers by providing advice and guidance to young people on benefits, local service provision and the service complaints procedureRespond in a suitable manner to the welfare of young people including child protection and vulnerable adult issues, by informing managementand working in accordance with local requirements and Changing Lives policies and procedures
