Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Head Chef to join our team based in Oswestry. You will join us on a permanent full-time, permanent basis. In return, our Head Chef will receive a competitive salary of £36,167 to £40,937 per annum (dependant on experience).

Hope House Children’s Hospices is a charity that gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

About the Head Chef role:


To lead the hospice’s catering team in delivering nutritious, comforting, and child-friendly meals that support the health and wellbeing of children with life threatening conditions, their families and hospice staff.
Work positively under pressure and ensure meals are prepared with compassion, creativity and sensitivity to meet individual dietary needs of children with complex medical conditions, while maintaining the very highest standards of hygiene and food safety. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
Build and maintain a motivated skilled and compassionate kitchen team, ensuring they are trained, supported and working collaboratively to deliver high standards.
Manage stock, budgets and procurement effectively to reduce waste and control costs.
Collaborate with clinical and family support teams to ensure food supports overall care plans.


We are looking for a Hospitality Manager with:


You will be friendly and personable, with the capacity to work emotionally in sensitive environments with empathy and professionalism.
You will be reliable with high professional standards and capable to quickly integrating into the catering and care team.
You will be flexible in your approach to working hours.
Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
