HGV CLASS 1 & 2 HIAB/CRANE DRIVERS WANTED
ARC HAULAGE is actively recruiting skilled HGV Drivers who are fully certified to operate lorry-mounted cranes (HIAB).

About the Role
This position involves a crucial dual responsibility: professional, compliant HGV driving and the skilled operation of a lorry-mounted crane (HIAB) for self-unloading. You will be delivering essential building and construction materials across the region, making multiple drops per day on various customer and construction sites. Precision, time management, and an unwavering commitment to site safety are paramount.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Driving: Operate Category C or C+E vehicles in a safe, fuel-efficient, and professional manner, adhering strictly to driving hours regulations.
• Crane Operation: Safely and accurately operate the HIAB crane for loading, unloading, and positioning materials in line with site instructions and LOLER regulations.
• Compliance: Conduct thorough daily vehicle and crane pre-use safety checks (including lifting gear) and report any defects immediately.
• Load Management: Ensure all loads are correctly secured, strapped, and legally compliant for road travel before departure and throughout the route.
• Customer Service: Maintain positive communication with the Transport Office, site managers, and customers to ensure smooth, timely deliveries and resolve issues professionally.
• Administration: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, vehicle logs, and digital tachograph records.
The Essentials (Must Haves)
• HGV Licence: Valid Category C (Class 2) or C+E (Class 1).
• Crane Certificate: Current Lorry Loader certification (ALLMI preferred, CPCS/NPORS considered).
• Safety: Deep knowledge of site operations, load integrity, and LOLER regulations.
• Documents: Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Fitness: Ability to carry out manual handling duties (strapping/sheeting).
Pay & Benefits
• Salary: £35,000 - £48,000 Basic (Up to £55,000+ OTE with Overtime).
