Summary
We require experienced phlebotomists to join the newly created Clinical Decision Centre at Mile End Hospital.
The successful candidates may be required to work in other areas of the Trust.
Core working hours are 9.00am-6.00pm on weekdays. The post holder will also be expected to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays to meet service requirements.
Morning and afternoon shifts are available, but successful candidates are expected to be flexible in their working patterns to meet service demands.
The requirements for these posts are:
• Practical phlebotomy experience in an NHS facility
• Good manual skills
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Good customer care skills
• Good attention to detail
• Basic biology knowledge
• Basic IT skills
• Compliance with all Trust policies relating to Infection Control and Health & Safety
• The ability to meet all the moving and handling requirements necessary to meet all service demands
• The ability to remain calm in a busy environment, to work as part of a team and without direct supervision, and to deal with patients in a sensitive, empathetic manner

To participate in the provision of a high quality phlebotomy service to all patients in the Community Diagnostic Centre between the hours of 9am-6pm Monday to Sunday.
To manage and prioritise personal and team workloads in the clinical area.
To be involved in the training of other staff where appropriate.
