Summary
To provide clinical services in Cardiology in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust. To work within the Coronary Risk and Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Service which covers all aspects of primary and secondary CVD risk prevention. Depending on the candidate the role may involve additional cardiology specialist activity subject to further arrangement. To engage in clinical research in Coronary Risk Prevention/FH at a level in keeping with the 5* research rating of the National Heart & Lung Institute. To supervise and deliver clinical and technical education in Coronary Risk Prevention/FH and to maintain the international teaching profile of the Trust. The principal role of this post is to provide clinical care of patients in the Cardiology Unit, with particular emphasis on secondary and primary CVD prevention, FH and Lipid Management. To provide care to both inpatients and out-patients to ensure that patients are provided with the highest possible standard of diagnosis, treatment and care in the most effective and timely way. To participate in the Consultant of the week rota for the care of cardiology in-patients.
