Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join the catering team at Ranelagh Primary School on a temporary cover basis. This is a part-time role during school term time, ideal for someone with previous experience in catering or school meals service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation under the direction of the Head of Kitchen.
Set up and display food for counter service, ensuring correct food temperatures are checked and recorded.
Arrange dining room furniture if required.
Assist with the serving of meals to pupils and staff.
Clear away and dispose of waste food and materials.
Wash up and clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, equipment, and service areas.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the dining area and kitchen in line with Vertas Catering policies.
Report any faults or defects to the Head of Kitchen.
Requirements
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
Enhanced DBS clearance (essential).
Experience working in a catering or food service environment (desirable).
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
