Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an inspiring and creative individual to support the delivery and enjoyment of languages at Tonbridge Grammar School.
You will be:
• able to teach Spanish to Sixth Form level
• a good Honours graduate with a passion for learning and teaching
Languages hold a central position within our internationally focused curriculum. All students study French and Spanish in Years 7 – 9 alongside Latin. This foundation continues into GCSE and the IB Diploma in Sixth Form, where our commitment to internationalism is further emphasized. Our students consistently achieve outstanding results in both GCSE and the IB Diploma programme, often pursuing further language studies at university and beyond.
Our language department thrives as a vibrant hub of the school community. We offer an extensive range of co-curricular activities, ensuring that opportunities for enrichment are as exciting as possible. These include language trips to Seville and Rouen in October, as well as weekly enrichment programs such as the United Kingdom Linguistics Olympiad, International Film, Japanese, Mandarin, Current Affairs, Home Languages, and Podcast clubs.
What the school offers its staff
A community where everyone is valued and supported to success
As a provider of employment and education, we value the diversity of our staff and students and consistently work to remove any barriers to progress and believe in fulfilling the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) outlined in The Equality Act 2010.
We are committed to staff wellbeing and offer:
• 5 Additional INSET days a year
• Free use of our Fitness suite
• Staff wellbeing package including winter flu jabs
• Parking/electric car charging
• Cycle to work scheme
• Active staff community and socials
There is individualised professional development to support your career stage be it ECT, middle or senior leadership. We are an International Baccalaureate World School – IB experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
