This post would suit a graduate considering entering the teaching profession or someone who can demonstrate an understanding of supporting and guiding students in their learning.
This is an ideal opportunity to join our successful school, where your contribution to the life of the school community is valued and development opportunities maximised.
The Cover Department provides the opportunity to work within a well-qualified and experienced team to make a real difference to the learning of our young people. If you have the ability to inspire and motivate students, we would love to hear from you!
What the school offers its staff
Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry. As a Christian school our intake draws from both the local area and across the city and surrounding areas. Consequently, we have a diverse intake and a culturally thriving school. The school was graded 'Outstanding' in its SIAMS inspection and 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2023 and continues to perform exceptionally well academically. In 2023 our Attainment 8 at GCSE was 52.3 and our Progress 8 score was +0.42 both of which are above national average. The vast majority of our students stay on into the sixth form and continue their studies.
We have a large and successful Post 16 provision with 350 pupils on average studying either A levels or Vocational Level 3 courses. We have excellent rates of progression to universities, apprenticeships and employment.
We were inspected by Ofsted in May 2023, and were judged a Good School, with Outstanding for Personal Development, The Sixth Form and Leadership and Management. Ofsted shared in their report:
• Leaders and teachers share a moral purpose.
• There is a cohesive and vibrant school community.
• Leaders have built an inclusive community. Staff are very proud to work at the school.
• Staff feel very well supported by leaders and greatly value the training they receive to continually improve their work.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and appointments will be subject to rigorous safeguarding checks including enhanced DBS and references. The postholder must share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Candidates who have been successfully shortlisted will be asked to complete a self-declaration to confirm any (non-protected) criminal disclosures or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.
