About the Role

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Leeds. The role is available for an immediate start. As a third-person, non-named professional, you will be an invaluable asset to the classroom, supporting the teacher and students to create a positive and effective learning environment. Requirements:
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to their wellbeing.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Teaching and Learning in Schools) is desirable, but not essential.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

  • Organisation: The ability to manage tasks, prepare resources, and support the general running of the classroom.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach to working with the class teacher and other school staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Providing one-on-one and small-group support to students with varying needs.
  • Helping to create and maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Supporting students with their personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of classroom resources and displays.
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress, behaviour, and development to the teacher.
  • Implementing and adapting learning strategies as directed by the teacher.
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, such as break and lunch duties.
  • Following school policies and procedures, with a particular focus on safeguarding.
  • Attending relevant staff meetings and training sessions to support professional development.
