Summary
Your new company
Our client, a Tier 1 contractor operating in the water industry, is seeking a Construction Manager to join their team for the Severn Trent Region on a 3-month contract with a high probability of an extension. You will be working on management of a project within region (Non-Infrastructure Clean & Waste treatment).
Your new role
- Manage construction and regional staff
- Assist with site audits suggesting improvements as appropriate
- Provide technical assistance to the Project Managers, Site managers, site supervisors and in-house designers as appropriate
- Aid with pre-qualification tender submissions & pre-acceptance issues
- Progress Reports / Safety Reports
- Assist in Procurement of SC packages (with QS)
- Attend meetings with Project Managers, Designers and Clients
- Maintain financial forecast of project with PM & QS
- Communicate effectively with management, supervisors, site teams and sub contractors via management meetings, team meetings tool box talks and day to day discussions
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate records to ensure recovery of asset values together with as-built records.
What you'll need to succeed
- At least 5 years management / supervisory experience within the utilities / construction industry
- Ability and experience to manage both direct labour and sub contract operatives
- Ability to interface with both developers and adopting utility companies
- Awareness of adopting utility standards
- Ability to manage both departmental and project budgets
- Experience in dealing with and resolving contractual disputes
- Proven track record of delivery.
