What You’ll Be Doing

As a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and thrive in the classroom.

Your role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional needs


  • Using your psychological insight to help shape inclusive learning strategies


  • Assisting class teachers in adapting lessons to suit different learning styles


  • Supporting behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social development


  • Tracking pupil progress and contributing to targeted intervention planning alongside the SENCo and pastoral team


    Who We’re Looking For

    We’d love to hear from you if you:

    • Hold (or are predicted) a 2:1 or higher in Psychology (or a related subject)


    • Have some experience working with children or young people (e.g. in schools, youth work, care, or volunteering)


    • Are calm, empathetic, and confident when working with pupils who have additional needs


    • Want to apply your academic knowledge in a practical, school-based environment


    • Are considering future pathways into educational psychology, therapy, SEN teaching, or mental health services
