Salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours.

Would you like a role to help communities improve their local parks and open spaces? Interested in using your skills to implement projects relating to habitat restoration and climate change adaptation and mitigation? East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking applications from dynamic and experienced individuals for the role of Streetscene Project Officer (job share). This is an exciting time to join the Council and help us lead on the delivery of greenspace and climate ready projects as part of the Council’s Streetscene Technical Support team.

The successful candidate will be work on a number of projects relating to open space development and creation. The Officer will work with community groups and stakeholders to develop and implement projects relating to the Council’s Greenspace Strategy, Local Biodiversity Action Plan, Green Network Strategy and Food Growing (emerging).

You will ideally have an ecological or Streetscene-related background, have proven experience of successfully working in this environment, and knowledge and experience of project development, procurement, data management, implementation and sign-off, in accordance with safe systems at work. Working and forging partnerships is an important element of this role, as well as securing third party funding. Communication skills are key, both written and verbal along with an enthusiasm for helping partners and communities improve their local space.

A full driving licence is essential for this role.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
