So…. What is this role exactly?
This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Team Leader to join our Commercial team
Every decision you make will help us deliver safe, high quality homes and services to our residents, making your commercial expertise a direct driver of positive change in our communities.
What will my working week look like? .
You will be homebased, living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed. Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office approximately 1 – 2 times per week.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will play a pivotal role in driving value across materials supply, subcontractor management, waste and more. Always ensuring our repairs service is efficient, compliant, cost effective and sustainable.
One of the great things about this role is the purpose behind it, every decision you make helps us deliver safe, high-quality homes and service to our residents, making your commercial expertise a direct driver of positive change in our communities.
Other duties key to the role are to lead, motivate and support members of the Commercial Team to deliver quality outputs, to lead on our van stock replenishment processes ensuring they remain compliant and ensure adherence to regulations and contractual agreements.

To be a successful as a Commercial Team Leader, here at YHG, you will have….
- Proven experience in managing contracts, subcontractors or supply chains, ideally within housing or construction.
- experience in a commercial environment with a strong understanding of commercial principles
- Qualification or experience in a finance background.

- Engaging and approachable. Confident when building relationships face to face with colleagues of all levels, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Commercially minded with a strong eye for detail, the ability to balance cost, quality and compliance.
- A collaborative leader who motivates their team and supports colleagues.
This role is really suited to someone who is a confident communicator, able to engage effectively in person, building strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers. Has a true leadership presence, lead by example and motivate others plus must be commercially aware.
