Summary
The post holder will act be part of a clinical team provided to ensure that clinical care of patients and others using the service receive an efficient and quality service. The post offers the opportunity to further develop clinical and non-clinical skills within the team. Ensure that equipment is available and in good working order, being mindful of specialty specific requirements Ensure the safer surgery checklist principles are adhered to, taking the lead if necessary ensuring the presence of the entire team. Be prepared to escalate non-compliance to the Clinical Lead for Anaesthetics and Recovery. Support the Theatre Manager in working collaboratively with Infection Control, Risk Management and corporate nursing to ensure actions from audits and incidents are acted upon and resolved in a timely manner. The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational supervision of the department; including a budgetary awareness, clinical governance, staff development and training. The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multidisciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable for. The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols / guidelines and patient information.
