Summary
Lead the nursing team, ensuring high standards of evidence-based care Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and promote health and well-being . Ensure compliance with NMC guidelines and Trust policies. Be a visible and authoritative presence in the ward, supporting staff, patients, and families. Oversee the day-to-day running of the ward, including staffing, rotas, and resource allocation. Manage ward budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources. Lead on investigations of complaints and clinical incidents, ensuring learning is shared. Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting . Conduct annual appraisals and personal development plans for staff. Support staff training, revalidation, and competency development. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice. Coordinate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Facilitate effective communication across services and departments. Promote partnership working with patients, carers, and external agencies.Monitor clinical standards through audits and governance frameworks.Ensure compliance with infection prevention and safeguarding protocols.Implement service improvements and change initiatives.Manage admissions and discharges to optimise bed usage.Work with discharge coordinators to reduce delays and promote home first principles
